This is a great scripture. :) My sister said that she loved this scripture this morning, and even though it is often-quoted, it is so cool... I mean, we exist to have joy. I think that is a cool thought. God's whole plan is to make us happy. Everything he does is designed to accomplish that. Sometimes we think that God is trying to stop us from having fun, but right here it tells us that he is working toward a completely opposite goal... he is concerned about our eternal happiness, and so he doesn't want us to get caught up in things that will make us eternally miserable, no matter the short-term pay-off. I love that eternity is all about being happy, having fun... what a great concept. :)
