Romans 8:35-39

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:35-39

Some people think of today as Valentine's Day... I prefer to think of it as the two-month anniversary of the scripture of the day list. :)  But, since it *is* a day dedicated to love, I thought I would put in this incredibly cool scripture about the love that God has for us.
We were talking in church yesterday about prayer and one sister said, and I think that we all feel this at times, that sometimes she feels like God doesn't want to hear from her... that he gets tired of the same old things... and doesn't want to bail us out yet again... I feel like that sometimes too... that something in my life is keeping me from connecting with God... whatever it is, there is something in the way.  But in sincerity, there isn't.  It is Satan's tactic is to try and make us feel like we can never go back... we are too busy, or too "dirty" or too far away... anything to take communication with God away from us.  But, as this scripture says... NOTHING can separate us from God.  He is always there, offering his love, wanting to talk to us.  Death can't separate us... height, depth... no other being... tribulation... none of it.  And the thing is... when we feel separated from everything that is good... when we feel that darkness descend... who else in the universe can pull us out but God?  And he wants to... all we have to do is ask.
Anyway, I like the third verse... we are more than conquerors through him that loved... and still loves... us.  There isn't anything that we need to fear, there isn't anything that can take his power and his love away from us.  nothing.  We can conquer anything in this life, or the next, through Christ.
So, happy Valentine's Day.... from me, and God... who loves you a lot more than I ever could.
