Luke 12:3

"Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops."
Luke 12:3

This isn't all bright and cheery either... but I like it because of a couple of things. First of all, I like the whole open knowledge thing. Gods knows our thoughts and the desires of our hearts... and think about it, if we are going to become like him someday, then we are going to know all of those things about everyone else too... so, this scripture is just a reminder. All of those things that we try to keep "secret" or that we say without thinking they will ever be public knowledge... perhaps we should start thinking about it. Hopefully repentance will be taken into account. :) But also, I think that a lot of times we make choices, thinking that they will affect only ourselves, and that we are the ones who will pay the price, and we accept that individual responsibility. I think this scripture also shows us that our choices and our words and all of it... it doesn't only just affect us, it affects everyone... and someday it will all be public knowledge... not just our pasts, but our presents. Could any of us bear to live in a society where our thoughts and desires were known by all... in a society of Gods, instead of by just one God, who we choose to ignore more often than not? We get so wrapped up in the dynamics of relationships now, where no communication is perfect, and we try to be this person in this situation and a different person in another situation... I don't think that is going to work when everyone can see and know who we are all the time.
