That verse is part of a story, teaching a lesson, not something that literally happened. It might seem "vile" in the sense of a literal story, but I think in a symbolic sense the parable is basically just teaching what we learn elsewhere in the scriptures... that the end of everyone will be a reward for what we've accomplished, who we've been, and how we have learned to love others. If we spit on the gifts God gives us, and reject the opportunities we have in life to improve, then we'll still get God's gift of eternal life, but we won't get the spiritual gifts that we were offered, because we chose to reject them... including not being able to live in the same place God is, which is spiritual death, thus the symbolism.Suzanne Bennerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10390209922646950758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3912671205860906030.post-18919714460048812992013-07-02T13:21:18.796-06:002013-07-02T13:21:18.796-06:00What about the next verse, Luke 19:27..."But ...What about the next verse, Luke 19:27..."But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them- bring them here and kill them in front of me."?
